Are you stare’n at me? It’s not nice to stare….although I am pretty handsome I must admit….my name is Malek and I am a neutered male Lab mix about 12-14 wks old and I weigh…..wait for it…….still waiting?…..The suspense is madding right? 33 lbs! Ok so the bad stuff…..I HATE LEASHES. I’m doing my best but is it really necessary that I learn to navigate life on a leash? I know it keeps me safe but geeeeez….I’m a happy guy, playful, energetic and a whole lotta goofy. I love being around other dogs and can be a little clingy with my hoooman. I’m still young and so eager to learn new things as long as you have the patience to teach me! I was surrendered by my owner so that makes me available now! Just please when you take me home can you carry me to the car…Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. The first step to adopting an animal is submitting an application. The application allows us to individually consider applicants and helps us to properly match our pets with new owners. We want to make sure that our pets are going to homes that are ready to provide for these pets long-term. Adoptions are $50 and this includes vaccinations, heartworm test, spay/neuter and microchip. As with any shelter animal, health is not guaranteed but we do our best to screen out those animals that are showing obvious signs of illness or disclose that information prior to adoption. All dogs are heartworm tested upon adoption.

If you are interested in adopting a dog and you reside OUTSIDE the city limits of Conway and the dog is less than 12 wks old, the cost is $75 which includes a spay/neuter and micropchip. The spay and neuter can only be performed at Vilonia Vet Clinic or Companion Animal Spay/Neuter Clinic. If the animal is less that 12 wks and you live inside the city limits the adoption fee is $25 dollars and you receive a voucher for $120 to use at select clinics for spay/neuter. The other option is that you provide us with proof of a pre-paid spay or neuter at YOUR vet of choice.

When you come out to visit ask for Trooper….that’s me! I am a 2 yr old neutered male Hound/Pitbull mix and I weigh 40 lbs. I was surrendered by my owner…well hang on let me back up…I was surrendered by my first owner, then adopted, then surrendered again and adopted…and surrendered again. I have had 3 different homes in 5 weeks..confusing right? Imagine how I must feel! Reasons for surrender you ask…..one said I didn’t get along with the other hooooman in the house and the other was because I didn’t like the other fur baby….let me go on record as saying I LOVE hoooomans and when I was with my first family I lived with 3 other dogs. I am a good boy, great on a leash, friendly, a little submissive at times (adds to my charm) love kids and get along well with other dogs. Hope you come out soon for a visit…don’t forget to ask for Trooper! Third times a charm right? Adopting a dog from the Conway Animal Welfare Unit is a fairly easy process. Seems like forever ago since Feb 23rd…..that’s when I got here….we had to wait this long to see if my owners were going to come and get me….sadly they did not so….I’m on the hunt for a new family. My name is Buddy and I am a 3 yr old neutered male Pitbull mix and I weigh 70 lbs. I do most things with a full body wag and love to be near my hoooman or on you if you will let me. I’m a certified class A licker and love to lean on you every chance I get. If you pet me that must mean you want to see my belly so give me space to flop over and show you! I get along well with other dogs and I love toys…tug o war is my favorite. I enjoy food a little too much and it might be best if I’m fed in a private location….sometimes I get a little grumpy about sharing my meals. I’m a fun boy…stop and visit me soon! I’m available now!
